The Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Dordevic awarded the people who have successfully completed the training of hand weaving and embroidery in the Palace of Serbia.

106 persons from Bor, Novi Pazar, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Nis, Prokuplje, Belgrade, Subotica and Kraljevo completed the training successfully.

Seven women from Leskovac got a Certificate: Jasmina Dordevic, Snezana Ilic, Svetlana Mitrovic, Vesna Stojkovic, Nevena Mihajlovic, Jamina Tomic and Valentina Cakic.

These licenses represent the intention of preserving old crafts with a tendency of becoming forgotten and express the government’s wish to recover the crafts, in addition to taking care of women from rural places, said the Minister.

“Your contribution is great because you are showing that you want to remain living in your place in Serbia, not only in Belgrade and that all the parts in Serbia are a good place to live and work in.”

The certified people were addressed by the manager of National Employment Service Zoran Martinovic who said that one of the aims of the service is to invest in human capital and workforce.

“This training gives us a final result, it is the product which represents our culture and tradition.” – said Martinovic.

The training was carried out by the Etno network as an organization which gathers local organizations and preserves tradition.
